Boy Scouts add Scuba merit Badge
The Boy Scouts of America have recently added scuba diving to their merit badge program. We at Sea-U-Dive applaud this forward thinking move. We have on staff several instructors that are registered as Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselors and have already conducted several classes for Boy Scout troops, including Try Scuba and full Open Water Diver courses. If you are involved in a scout troop, why not contact us to conduct a course for your Scouts. In addition, we have instructors on staff that are qualified to conduct merit badge sessions in First Aid, Emergency Preparedness, Oceanography and Swimming. Group discounts are available for all scuba classes and other classes can be arranged at very little cost except for materials fees.
Need a Dive Buddy? Why not Rent-A-Con?
No, not a convict but a Dive Control Specialist, a certified and insured dive leader. Dive Control Specialists are assistant instructors that teach the Scuba Skills Update courses, select specialty courses and Try Scuba Introductory Experiences. They are also certified DiveMasters, which allows them to lead certified divers in open water environments. You can hire a DiveCon for a day or a weekend to travel with you to a local quarry or Lake Erie on a scheduled dive trip. They will offer assistance and guidance in nearly every aspect of your dive trip. They will help you plan your dives, help you become familiar with any gear that you have before you dive with it, and guide your dives under water. A DiveCon can also include refreshing your skill set if you have been out of the water for a while. The DiveCon will make him or herself available to help fit you in rental gear from the dive shop or answer questions regarding gear that you may want to purchase. The cost for this program is $35 per person per day. There is a minimum of two divers per trip. This helps the DiveCon offset the costs for the day(s) of diving. Add $10 if you wish to include a night dive to your trip. Any planned dives must be within the divers certification level. The fee does not include your rental gear, air fills, transportation, any overnight stay, food or admission fees. Stop in the shop or call 330-245-1500 for further details or to make arrangements
Junior Divers Boot Exchange Program
Junior divers grow rapidly and here at Sea-U-Dive we understand this. For this reason we offer Junior divers the opportunity to exchange their gently used scuba boots for larger sizes at a significant discount. Stop in for further details.
Tank Lease Program
Tired of having to rent a tank every time you want to go diving? Don't dive enough to justify buying your own? Try our tank lease program instead. Lease a tank for a year at a price that is less than renting and filling a tank, then turn it in or renew when it needs a VIP. Call or stop in for details.
Lending Library
From technical manuals to scuba texts to travelogues to scuba-related novels we have a fairly extensive library of books for your use and enjoyment. Just stop by the shop and sign one out. We also will lend any of our many VHS and DVD videos that you might enjoy viewing.
Scuba Skills Updates
If you have not been diving in over a year, a scuba skills update is a very good idea. By reinforcing and relearning the skills that you acquired in your open water course, you will find that you will have a more relaxed and comfortable diving experience. One or our Instructors or Dive Control Specialists will take you into the pool to practice those rusty skills and give you any thoughts as to how to improve those skills and answer any questions you may have, like, "How do you work those pesky dive tables, again?" Call the shop for details at 330-245-1500.
